Quickstart
This guide walks you through the core steps to get your GeoGenie project up and running.
Step 1: Set up your project with ContextGenie
ContextGenie is the foundation of the entire system. It's a multi-agent research system that maps the personas, topics, and contexts in which your brand might be discovered in AI search.
Start by defining:
- Personas — the buyer types and roles searching for products or services in your category (e.g., 'VP of Engineering evaluating CI/CD tools,' 'shopper looking for sustainable skincare')
- Topics — the product categories and subject areas relevant to your brand
ContextGenie acts as a marketing research associate embedded in your team. Its output feeds directly into PromptsGenie, SiteGenie, and ActionsGenie. The accuracy of your ContextGenie settings directly determines the reliability of brand mentions, competitor analysis, citations, and entities across all dashboards.
Step 2: Generate prompts with PromptsGenie
Once ContextGenie has mapped your personas, topics, and contexts, PromptsGenie predicts the most effective 'Money Prompt Sets' — the prompts that best represent your brand's visibility opportunities within generative engines.
PromptsGenie generates two types of prompts:
- Coverage (Head Term) Prompts — broad prompts that monitor your category generally (e.g., 'running shoes'). These give you a data-rich view of the overall conversation.
- Depth (Commercial Intent) Prompts — specific, high-intent prompts where AI gives concrete brand recommendations (e.g., 'best lightweight running shoes for marathon training under $150'). These reveal winnable content gap opportunities.
You need both. Coverage without Depth leads to data-rich dashboards but decision paralysis. Depth without Coverage risks blind spots in large segments of your business.
Step 3: Monitor your visibility with MonitoringGenie
With your prompts set up, MonitoringGenie continuously tracks how your brand surfaces across AI platforms. The three core metrics you'll monitor:
- Visibility % — how often your brand appears in AI answers
- Share of Voice % — your share of mentions vs. competitors
- Citation Rate % — how often your content is cited as a source
Prompts are organized by Topic in the Prompt List view. Topic-level metrics are the aggregate of the prompts they contain.
Step 4: Analyze citations and take action
Use CitationsGenie to understand the citation supply chain — which domains AI engines pull from when answering questions about your category. Then use ActionsGenie to generate GEO-optimized content briefs across three tiers (on-site, off-site, social) that close the gaps CitationsGenie identified.
Use SiteGenie to audit your site's AI crawlability, structured data, and schema — ensuring AI engines can properly parse and recommend your content.
Step 5: Track AI bot activity with Agent Analytics
Agent Analytics shows what AI bots are actually doing on your site by reading CDN logs. It classifies every verified bot visit into three intent types: Citation (your content is answering a live query), Indexing (your content is being cataloged), or Training (your content is being used to improve an AI model). This fills the blind spot that GA4 can't see, since bots don't run JavaScript.
